Happy Valentines Day to Us!

I am not going to be exact about this. I know Valentines Day was two days ago. This is the first opportunity I have had to post. Ray and I are gift exchangers. I have married friends who never give each other gifts. I have not figured out the dynamics of this. Are we too materialistic and they are more altruistic? Are they not romantic and we the epitome of romance and sharing? I could go on for a long time about the options, but it really doesn't matter.
Ray sent me this beautiful bouquet. I was the only one in my office to get flowers. You may picture ooohing and aaaahing there, but reality was compliments and that was it. We are not a jealous group of women. He told me he had requested spring flowers which are truly appreciated in the middle of this long cold winter. In my view, this was a really romantic gift, so it is perfect.
I made the card for Ray, I took the idea from the January Cardmaker Magazine. As I tell people, I can steal ideas from the best. I really like the way it turned out. manly and romantic. Ray likes handmade cards, so it was good as far as he was concerned. I also bought him a new suit, he wanted and needed one. They were on sale at Dillards, not romantic, but perfect anyway.
Coming up next are our birthdays. We are going on a cruise as the gift to each other. A week in the sun and on the sea. Perfect again.

Today's Page

I am doing a scrapbook for some friends who went to Alaska in September. I have been feeling guilty because I couldn't get started on it until after the new year. This is a very simple page, but the colors and shapes all seem to work with the brilliant colors of the animals Ron and Diane saw under the sea in Alaska.

Who knows me best.

I am writing about the person who knows me best as part of a weekly posting challenge.

This one was so easy. Ray knows me best. He would have to have been oblivious for the last 43 years to be not be that person. The idea that you look like each other the longer you are married doesn't hold true. However, in so many ways we have become alike. The most interesting similarity to me is the fact that we rarely fight, but are constantly negotiating the details of our life that we don't agree on. We also don't feel like rushing into most decisions. It is a joke that we talk about painting a room or buying furniture for five years before we actually do it. For us, this easygoing pace works. We are both satisfied and have reached decisions we are both happy with. It doesn't work for other people, but it does for us.

Donna tagged me.

Here are the rules:
1. You have to post the rules before you give your answers.
2. You must list one fact about yourself beginning with each letter of your middle name. (If you don't have a middle name, use your maiden name).
3. After you are tagged, you need to update your blog with your middle name and your answers.
4. At the end of your blog post, you need to tag one person for each letter of your middle name. (Be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged and that they need to read your blog for details.)

Mary

M - Merry, I am a happy person

A - Appetite, I like to eat, food is a pleasure, not a necessity.

R - Realistic, I have romantic and idealistic dreams, but I am realistic enough to know when something will not work.

Y - Young for my age. Don't get me wrong I don't look twenty years younger, but I feel younger and hope that I am willing to try new things.

I am going to tag Toni, JoEtta, Cynthia (sorry if you have already been hit) and Cathy.
