Our Little Trick or Treaters

Wyatt is a monkey and Andrea is a princess. There will be not comments about the monkey being typecasting! Nicole made the costumes. I am so proud of her. I made costumes for her and her brother, it feels like she is picking up the torch. Wyatt participated in Trunk or Treat at church on Wednesday evening so he was primed and ready to go tonight. Ray went out with them for about a block. Wyatt was really into the door knocking and "trick or treat."
We didn't have twenty kids come by. We have never had many, but I think next year we will go out with the grandchildren.

Schnauz's Circle Journal Pages

I just finished this layout for Lisa's circle journal. Her theme was "Little things that make me happy." I would have liked more photos, but I just couldn't make anything work, so this one is wordy.

New Header

Blogger has made a change since the last time I did housekeeping. I can now use my own photo for a header. To those in the know this is not Haysville, but Durango Colorado. I am really going to like changing out my header more often.

Some pages about St. Augustine

Here are two pages I have done for Andrew's album. The pictures were taken i December 2007 when we to Saint Augustine while we were visiting Andrew in Georgia. It is so pretty and warm there in December. I want to go back down again and see more of the area around there.

Happy Birthday Wyatt!

Today is Wyatt's fourth birthday. He got to choose where he wanted to eat and he chose Burger King. We got him a Spiderman birthday cake and he blew out all his candles. His birthday gift from Grandma and Papa was a camera. Wyatt spent the rest of the afternoon taking pictures of everyone and everything. I am pretty certain he liked his gift.

Fall Colors

The trees have been beautiful this fall. We were at the home of some friends this evening. As the sun was setting the light on the trees made them glow. The photo does not do them justice.

Oklahoma City National Memorial

I stopped at the National Memorial last Thursday on my way to Denton. I had been wanting to stop there for quite a while, but had not had the opportunity. It was cold, gray and damp when I was there and it compounded the somber nature of the place. The empty chairs are compelling when you think about how each chair represented an adult or child who was killed in the bombing. I want to go back again on a warmer day and visit the museum as well as spend more time in the memorial garden.

Nap Time

I went to check on Andrea the other day while she was napping. I discovered that Gabe had decided that her bed was an excellent place for a cat nap. I shooed him away and when I went back later her was back. Sometimes he can be a really stubborn cat. He left quickly though when Andrea woke up.

Scrap Pack Challenge Page

This is the page I did for the Scrap pack Challenge here in Denton with the First Born Group. We were to create a page using five random items; a tongue depressor, binder ring, a piece of cork, a slide mount and slide frame. If you look you can find all the items. I really like this page of Andrew at John Ross house in Rossville Georgia.

Bo Bunny Christmas Card Holder

I I just finished this Christmas Card Holder from BoBunny. I am really tickled by this and I think everyone who takes this class in November will really enjoy this project. There are five sections for cards, so should be big enough for most people to use. There are plenty of options for additional embellishment as well.

Pumpkin Hunt 2009

Ray and I took the kids out to the pumpkin farm this afternoon to get pumpkins. Wyatt kept telling us he wanted to get the biggest one there. The biggest ones there were going for $40.00, so Papa steered him towards more affordable ones. Wyatt kept picking out a pumpkin and telling us this was the biggest one. Andrea just looked bemused. It was so much fun. We ended up a version of the three bears. A big one for Wyatt, a medium one for Ray, a small one for me and a little tiny one for Andrea. We had a lot of fun.

Basic Grey Explosion Box

This is an explosion box made with Basic Grey Wisteria patterned paper. The class is going to be November 3rd at Scrapbook Garden. I love the Wisteria paper, it is a romantic type of paper and you aren't going to be using it for a mans page. I made this box for the wedding pictures I took last Friday. The album suggestion was for twelve months of garden photos, so there are a lot of options. The box is simple, but the embellishment options are great. In addition to the paper the kit comes with rub ons and bling. I love bling.
My next few posts will be about projects for the November classes. I better get working on the next one.

Wedding Photos

My friend Connie got married last Friday at the Keeper of the Plains. I took some pictures for her. It was a very simple wedding, everyone got together at the park, the minister performed the ceremony and then they went out to eat lunch together. It was beautiful and very meaningful for Connie and Ray. The whole wedding made me realize again that we can get all wrapped up in the party of a large gathering and forget the meaning of the celebration. Ray and Connie had a beautiful wedding without spending a fortune. The good luck has already started for them. Congratulations.

Chris's Card

I made this card for my sister Chris's birthday. It is a scraplift from a card by Lisa Johson in Cardmaker magazine. I really like the colors and design. Every now and then I think about getting rid of some of my older stamps, but then I find that one of them is perfect for something I want to do.
