Home from Atlanta

I have been in Atlanta for the last week attending a Neighborworks Institute. I finished my certification as a Foreclosure Intervention Counselor. I had gone to Atlanta hoping for a warmer break from the cold weather we have been having here. However, that did not happen. The weather fell below freezing and it snowed. Snow there is not like snow here, it was gone by mid day. It was enough to close schools and remind me how unprepared the deep South is for weather like that.
My classes were useful and hopefully I will become more effective as a counselor as a result. I met a lot of people who are doing the same thing and got ideas from them. I don't really consider it networking, but I guess that is what it is.
I like visiting huge cities like Atlanta. There is so much going on, and you can do so much without a car. I didn't get to sight see as much as I would have liked because of the cold weather. But I did get to the Olympic Centennial Plaza. The city is all around the plaza with the World of Coca Cola and the Aquarium at one end and CNN headquarters at the other. I like living here in my little city much better though.
