Andrea and Wyatt

Andrea has started solid food. This is Andreas first try at carrots. In spite of the food all over her face, she really likes carrots and green beans.
Wyatt won't let me take a picture of Andrea without taking a picture of him. He is at the stage where he does more cheesy smiling than real smiles. However, that stage will pass pretty soon. Both of them are such cuties.

The new truck

I finally took a couple of pictures of Andrew's new truck yesterday while he and Ray were packing up to leave for Valdosta. He bought a GMC with all the bells and whistles. He paid more than his father or I would have liked, but he has not gone overboard with other purchases. Also, he is an adult and can do what he wants, no matter what we think. These are also the last pictures of Andrew in his wheel chair. He will still be using one, but he is relying on the walker more and more.

On my own

Ray and Andrew left today for Valdosta. I talked to them and they made it to Little Rock without any problems. I am going to try to get some scrapping and cleaning done in the next few days. Now just to get off dead center and go to work.

Time Passing

I went to an estate sale today. It was next door to the house I grew up in on Gilbert Street. The lady who owned the house had so much to do with my life. Helen had been my Campfire Girl lead leader, she did the decorating for the reception for my wedding and I babysat her son more times than I can count. Helen passed away about a year ago, so it wasn't like this was a fresh set of feelings.

Outside of the fact that I recognized some items, the house didn't feel like hers anymore. I was able to buy a piece of pottery as a memento which I am glad about. I just am feeling the reality of getting older right now. It happens to everyone, but you don't always like to be reminded.

Georgia Bound

It looks like Andrew will be heading back to Valdosta sometime next week. He will have an evaluation physical done by the Air Force when he gets home. At that time it will be decided what position they will put him in until he is fully recovered. I think it is probably more complicated than that, but I don't know the whole process. I think he is sort of looking forward to going back to his home. We have done well together while he has been recovering. I will miss him as always when he is gone.

The drivers

My sister and niece were over yesterday for a while with my nieces children. Her oldest Cole and Wyatt were out in the back yard, driving around with the jeep. They would alternate between swimming in the pool and driving. Both of them had a lot of fun and were sad when Mom and Nana told Cole they had to leave.

Donna's Circle Journal Pages

These are my pages for my friend Donna's Circle Journal. Her theme is thing I collect. Collect I do. I had a lot of fun with this page. The last thing I had to get was the picture of Andrea and myself. I like it, that yellow tee shirt is nice and bright. I hope Donna likes it too.

My Father's 90th Birthday Party

Dad and Jaunita The Cake, the top photo is my Dad's senior picture.
Dad, my sister, brother and myself
The Guest of Honor
We celebrated my Dad's 90th birthday on Sunday. We had a reception and family dinner for him at his church Countrywide Christian. I think Dad enjoyed himself. He was convinced no one would come. He has reached the age where he has outlived so many people. However, quite a few older people came in. Dad used to drive the bus for the senior group and a lot of people remembered him. He had quite a few family members there as well. My sister Chris did most of the work. My sister in law took care of the cake and I did the invitations and the photo display. Scrapping does have some skill to be used elsewhere after all. I had been so distracted since Andrew's accident, I am grateful that Chris just went ahead and took care of everything. My Dad is doing so well, I have hope for my own old age.

More cute little girl pictures

Andrea was six months old yesterday. She sits up by herself, and will get up on her hands and knees. She is a sweet funny little girl with a smile for everyone. She is also a little princess who demands to be the center of attention. I love her to pieces.

Andrea and Gabriel

Every time Gabriel sees Wyatt he jumps in the air and runs away. However, with Andrea he is much more tolerant. Andrea wiggles towards Gabe and grabs where ever she can. He allows her to manhandle him for quite a while, then gets up and walks away. Quite a difference.

Wyatt was big enough to do sparklers this year. He really enjoyed them and only had to be told not to touch the hot end a couple of times. Not bad for a three year old. Nick and Nicole had some of their friends over for a pool party. We really enjoy having these young people over.

Moving along, literally

Andrew went to the orthopedist yesterday. He was told he could start using a walker, we had one of his grandmother's available. He tried it, but said his arm hurt. We are going to try crutches. I am going to have him ask if some pain is to be expected since he hasn't done much for the last month and a half.

Scrapping Stuff

These two pages are for Kelly Jo

These are for my friend Barb
Barb accidentally gave me two names for my circle journal assignments. It was sort of fun to do two. Each one was a different topic and as always came out completely different. The French Toast Bank page is a sort of toe dip into digital scrapping. It is really basic. I don't think I will ever become a digital scrapper, I like handling the paper too much, but there are times when it works really well.
