What happened last week.

I don't normally talk about work on my blog. First of all, it isn't the part of my life I find most interesting. Secondly, I don't know who reads this besides my family and friends, but if I said something I would regret, that would be the day I would get called on it.

However, the big event of the last week is more than worthy of comment. Our executive director resigned. Thursday afternoon, she was there being her normally overbearing self and Friday morning she was gone.

If you get the idea that I will not miss her, you are correct. She was never more than an annoyance to me, but the behaviors she exhibited to the staff in general and certain employees was unacceptable. However, being an incompetent boss is not grounds to cause said boss to leave, so I had decided to give my notice in the next week. Life is too short to do a job you hate, especially at my age. Whatever you choose to think about answered prayers, this was one to me and my co-workers.

Now the real challenge lies ahead of all of us. Ex-director believed with all her heart and ?soul? that the organization would collapse without her. We have to pull together and make things work better and have everything ready for the new director that is hired. It is sort of daunting, but will be a challenge for all of us. None of us had any authority to do anything, and now we will all have to learn how to make decisions again.

Wish all of us luck.

Wow! What a relief for everyone there Lynette! I hope with all my heart that the place blossoms without her there!

Wow...well that is good news that she is gone. So I take it that you have decided to stay on for awhile longer since she's left? As for pulling the office together, you have great people there so all of you can do it and under much happier times.

I am gong to stay. The ED was my main source of discontent, and now all of us need to make the place work better to show we can.
